Central:  Chamber Christmas Social Dec. 13  The Chamber’s annual Christmas Social is slated for Kristenwood Reception Center on Dec. 13 beginning at 7 p.m. The event is free to every member and a guest. Central CHS seeking help from members: Central High School would like to recognize their outstanding juniors and seniors. This year, 87 students have exceeded expectations and qualify for an Academic Letterman jacket or patch. The school is asking for help in recognizing these achievements. Academic Jacket requirements include: maintaining at least a 3.75 cumulative grade point average; succeeding in honors courses (two by their junior year, three by their senior year); passing all of their coursework; Each jacket sponsorship is $100, but donations in any amount are appreciated. Central: Coupon books being formed If you are interested in submitting a coupon for the annual free holiday coupon book, contact the Chamber office at (225) 261-5818 or email chamber@cityofcentralchamber.com.   Participation in the coupon book is included as a benefit of membership. The book is distributed throughout the community in November and coupons are valid until May 31, 2013. St. Francisville: K of C Soccer Challenge set Boys and girls ages 10-14 are invited to participate in the ‘local level’ of competition for the 2012 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge.  The local competition will be held at the West Feliciana Sports Park on Sept. 20. Central Luncheon set for Sept. 12 The City of Central Chamber’s next monthly luncheon is scheduled for Sept. 12 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Kristenwood Reception Hall. Doors open at 11:30 a.m. and the luncheon begins at noon. The cost is $12. Pointe Coupee Cast for a Cure on Aug. 25 The Casting for a Cure Big Bass Fishing Tournament and auction is scheduled for Aug. 25 at Morrison Parkway on False River in New Roads.
